FIH Video Umpire Library up and running successfully
Although only a few weeks old, the newly-opened International Hockey Federation’s (FIH) Video Umpire Library has tolled over one hundred thousand video replays.

In what is likely to be the pattern for the season, CHA has allocated the club to four (4) games of senior competition. We have arranged umpires for two of these; the following teams must provide umpires:
Those who have umpired for the club this season should email the above address with details of the match (as stated here), to ensure the club is aware of their contribution and can reward accordingly.

Anybody interested in umpiring one of these matches should email their name and cellphone number to umpiring@uchockey.co.nz by 11:00pm, Thursday 7th April. If there are no volunteers, teams will be assigned to these games.
We remind potential umpires that their work does not go unrewarded; our club does provide a rebate on their fees, which are paid at the end of the season once all games have been tallied up.

The International Hockey Federation’s Rules Board has released their updated Rules of Hockey for 2011. These can be viewed here or by following the link from our Resources page.
We are awaiting reply from Canterbury Hockey Association regarding whether or not these changes will be implemented in local competition, and to what extent. We will provide an update when possible, and a summary of the changes will be included at that time.
